CFL footballs are slightly bigger and hence harder to throw than an NFL football. Quarterbacks like Warren Moon and Doug Flutie have commented that the CFL ball tends to be a bit harder to throw with a strong spiral on it.

Actually the footballs are not bigger. The filed is 10 yards longer, 25 yards wider (?), and the end zones are 25 yards deep each. The CFL was formed prior to the NFL.
